Hi there. :)
Life has demanded that I do various things to stay fed and fairly-sane and, well, dressed. Everyone should require that I stay fed, fairly-sane, and dressed. To the nines, if possible, because that is part of my staying fairly sane.
Even when I cook. Carra gave me a choice, choice smock back in the day, and I use it when cooking/dishwashing. Love the print/colors. And over break, I found a matching apron for $3 at Granny's Attic thrift store in Kanktastic. For extra protection from the inevitable MESS that I create when cooking (and even cleaning).

Pic doesn't do it justice. It's just the best combination of vintage pastels in the world, that's all.
My dear mother gave me a quality blue dutch oven for Christmas, per my extreme expressed request.
As you might know, I made French onion soup with it (a prime obsession of mine)...

...from Cook's Illustrated. (Yearly bound book, in this case.) It turned out wonderful. Note: buy Febreze. I smelt of onion all day. (My clothes, that is.)

I was feeling... feelings, yesterday (my relationship to thrifting is complex), and I went thrifting. I haven't in weeks. It was low-key. Almost cathartic. (Not quite.) I got this, because:

Because why? Because, that's why. I mean, c'mon. C'mon.
Good News: always welcome. If it's good. Even if it's disguised as Uncomfortable - still welcome. But if it's bad, it better keep moving. (Though I would be amused to find a book of Bad News.)

I bought this dual deck of cards because I have a thing for antique watercraft with gingerbread latticework. And, NYC/NY, World-Fair-Era. There were only a few riverboat cards, and then PLUMP BIRDS underneath.

I accept.
I also accept, anywhere and everywhere, candy as a way of life.

Praise God.
Mwa.

(2nd lip pin that I now own - other is Bakelite and hard-won)
And, today (which by the time I post this might be days from now), I got drest. Like every day. Halfway through it (today), I felt smote because I knew, in my heart, that Iona from Pretty in Pink would've rocked it a little better (Iona circa her regular date). Let this be a lesson to me. But, dressing for teaching is not the same as how I dress for myself. Close, but a little less wacktastic.

Carey Mulligan face. Not a dis. Love her. Blazer: $3. Shirt: $2. Pins: $15 and $10. Bracelet: $3.
You shoulda seen me this morning. I was amped on caffeine, trying to get an outfit together. What happened was this outfit, and some major shoulder-pad carnage on the floor.
Good news: tomorrow is a new day, and who knows what it will bring. As Bill Murray as Bob says, I'm baby-steppin'. (He also says Gimme Gimme Gimme and that works as well.)
