Let me tell you a little story about second chances.
I bought this cummerbund (yes, cummerbund) at a vintage store in Chicago 4 years ago for $12.
I could never figure out what to do with it.
This was before I did natural-waist belts. This was when I tried to stick everything on my hips. Duh.
I tried to sell it. Not because I didn't love it, but because of its lack of usefulness. No sell.
So I gave it away. To my mom. To use for camp. Well, this summer, she informs me that there was a bunch of vintage clothes in her camp stuff she didn't need. Piqued, I took a look. Nearly all of it was stuff I didn't want then, and still don't want now. But I plucked this out of the pile.
I took it home, and looked over my rack of shirts. My loose houndstooth shirt ($3, and a stunning example of something looking formless on a hanger) was the perfect match for the cummerbund. Around my waist. With my black pants and sandals. For my first day of teaching. Wanted to be colorful, but not too crazy.
I'm saving that for later.
But - yay second chances. :)
The End.
